Why do Sporeans always think of or about food 1st & foremost over anything else during a query or discussion???

I’m guessing it’s because we are well known as a country that loves its food culture.

This is a dialogue that happened minutes ago:

(maybe the classic dumb & dumber scenario would cheer up your day somewhat)

Me: Woon Lin, What’s a “Breakout Room”? What’s a breakout in the 1st place? What is it???

WL: Oh, actually I also dunno leh. Hmmmmm, guess itys just a term for room rental for meeting?

WL: Oh! I know, I guess its a room that is used for breaks, like how during seminars & meetings they have a room for the meetings so this is another room for the Breaks lah..

Me: Ohhhhhh, eh yahhh ahhhh! It does makes sense! I have seen such groups with rooms like that before! Ohhh, I seee, now I know!! *GRINS*

Me: Hmmmm, let me ask the boss & see wether we are correct.

Me: Yooohooo, me & WL wants to know does break out rooms means rooms that are used for their coffe/tea breaks or lunches??? *smiles*

Boss: Huh? No lah!! What rooms for breaks! Its rooms that are used when the delegates needs to break out into groups for discussions!!

What the hell makes you think its for coffee breaks!?!

Sighs, guess I should have told her typical Sporeans would ALWAYS think of food 1st whenever they are in doubt..
