I’m suddenly reminded again of some other childhood stories that I have watched when I was younger & somehow the memory of those stories are embedded in my brain storage crypt.

One of them is a cartoon called ‘Around the World with Benny & Lenny’.
It’s about 2 boys called Benny & Lenny (duh) who are best friends and they go on an adventure around the world (again…DUH) though I don’t know what the hell made them do it, and encountered many wonderful adventures & discovered many things. For a 4 or 5 yr old kid that I was that time, the story was the best thing that can ever be shown on TV apart from the usual slew of Carebears & Strawberry Shortcakes & Transformers & Muppet Shows. The story was something diffrent for me & also exclusive coz’ I remembered watching it from a VHS tape (yes, it was THAT long ago) & I also remembered watching it over & over & over again until the tape went kaput! (I have a bad habit of repetition when I love something, often it come with dire results as is in the case of the tape)

I read recently a few years ago that the story Benny & Lenny is quite gay-ish & has homosexual undertones. What? just coz’ the story is about 2 BOYS going on an adventure TOGETHER & they are BEST FRIENDS???? Wahlau ehhh…
As it is Bird & Ernie (Sesame Street) was also accused of the same thing before. I mean it’s a kiddy show lah. If it shows a girl & boy going on adventure together then even worse rite’? Then they would say it has SEXUAL UNDERTONES. Sometimes some people just THINK TOO MUCH. Kids have a pure mind (like me ) so they won’t notice or even KNOW these things unless an adult with really corruptive brains tells them so!

I tried surfing the net for more info on the cartoon show & also you tube to see whether some kind sould uploaded my much loved cartoon but nothing. In fact one goondu actually uploaded a clip on Youtube titled The Adventures of Benny & Lenny but it’s not the cartoon instead it shows 3 guys jumping around & wriggling like kera kena belachan! Bloody, stoopid, Sonofa*&#*&# twits~!
Orang serious nak cari clip cerita kartun diorang macam siaaaaakkkkk aje terkinja-kinja… make people excited for nothing!

Hmph.

Since THAT proved an impossible feat I decided to revisit another favourite TV series of mine.. It was on Spore TV years ago. That time I was in secondary school lagi.. The story is called ‘Cave of The Golden Rose’ or ‘Fantagiro’. It’s an italian or maybe Czech series that was translated & dubbed into english. It tells the story of a young brave Princess named Fantaghiro who battles for her country. In the process she falls in love with the son of the enemy Prince Romualdo. Typical fairy tale story lah. The story has many parts & series. The last time I counted there’s 8 series. It tells the story from when she is a young girl fighting for the country, till she falls in love, till she had to fight back for her love for Romualdo when he was captured & put under a curse (yeah I know terbalik, Heroine saving the Hero), till SHE gets caught by the Evil King & then has the that same king falling in love for her & then the King becomes good & then at laaaaaaaaaaast she & Romualdo lives happily ever after. (phew!)
But then ah, the Evil King in the story, his name is Tarabas, he daaaaammmmmmmn cute hottie lah! He also looked abit like Johnny Depp like that in the story.
While Romualdo is dreamy & swoonish, Tarabas is Hot & has that Devil may care look & attitude… sighs. (NOW you know why I loved the story!)

It’s quite suprising that I can stick with the story for so long considering my short attention span that rivals that of a 2yr old….. (I think having hot & handsome actors helped eh?)

The only thing that can keep me sit still & quiet for more than 2mins are books that are good to read & not droning & boring OR watching TV series or movie that proves to be engaging & refreshing with all it’s plots & storylines. (or handsome leading men)
Other than that I am quite the fidgety one…. tak tau duduk diam selain daripada tido atau makan! heeeeheeee

Since I can’t find anything on Benny & Lenny, I thought I leave you a clip of ‘Cave of the Golden Rose’ with the theme song playing in the background. Plus, I am also gonna put in the lyrics of the song WITH translations. (am feeling generous..:P)
Oh! Also Also! I am gonna put in the scene that has Tarabas in it so you can compare yourself who’s cuter or hotter!
In case you would be wondering, Romualdo is played by an actor named Kim Rossi Stuart while Tarabas is played by Nicholas Rogers.
Yeah I know, Aku dasyhat skali kalau dah suka something, semua pasal benda tu aku nak tau. I’m the silent stalker…

If you want to watch more you can easily go to youtube & look up “fantaghiro” & you’d see a loooooong list of the clips… by episodes some more! Erm, but then you would have to be proficient in Italian or German lah. The only Italian I know is the pastas & pizzas that goes into my mouth so don’t ask me for help on that aite..

Now if only I can get my hands on the DVDs of the series….in english! The series are only available, it seems, in German! So irritating…. Amazon.com don’t have it in DVDs but they have it in VHS tape! So selengeh.. The world is so technologicaly advanced & yet NO ONE, seems te get it into their head that converting the format from VHS to DVDs or VCDs would be a great money making move!!! Bodoh betol lah… hmph.

Maybe I should make it a quest for my future husband to complete eh? One of the hantaran for my hand in marriage.. finding a DVD or VCD of the series in english…. hehehehehehehehehe
