Never be a shallow goober..

You know how kids say the darnest thing that can somehow make evrything crystal clear & simple?? Well, sometimes i wish my life was like that still. Where evrything is straight to the point & no hide here, hide there. But, i’m digressing.. What i wanted to blog about was the fact that how sometimes you can be friends with someone for soo long, for years in fact & you might even know things about them. i recently got a bit of insight into the life of one of my friend. It’s not that we don’t habg out before, we do. It’s just that its mostly group outings so we don’t really have the time or comfort to talk personally but recently I had the oppurtunity to go out wth her more often & we talked more than usual I found that this friend of mine is more that meets the eye. You know how they say never judge a book by it’s cover?? Well i learnt not to judge Babs by how she looks (or sounds for that matter coz she has this really soft spoken way of speaking & voice that can border on whiney which really irritates me @ 1st but i’m immune to now.. :P ) But yeah, she comes across as a pushover (which she sometimes is.hehe), gentle, softspoken..U noe, all those ah-kwah like attributes?? In short, anything & everything those that sterreotypes has been saying girls should be like, she IS IT. BUT, in reality, she has strong opinions, can be quite vulgar when super pissed (which i’ve never witnessed b4 but i dare say i’ll get the winning toto numbers when i do.. :P ), very good in pc stuff & i an avid, avid, Super Blogger (the woman has 4 sites for gods sake!) So u see, never have a lasting 1st impression on anyone coz’ you’re liable to change it in the future. Also, try to have a strong sense of willpower, coz’ if you’re like me chances are you’re easily swayed by your friends weird ideas of what you should do!…sighs, the perils of being weak….
I recently caught an episode of one of my favourite shows last week. It was Oprah. In that episode she was doing a segment around the title, “What have you done today that made you proud?” In it, she was was going on about how we should be doing stuff @ least one per day that we can be proud of & how good dead begets good in return. I agree wth it wholeheartedly. Even a smile you give to a complete stranger could mean something huge to the other person like maybe changing his or her mind about ending their life later that day! That’s how powerful a good deed can be. When we were young, our parents used to say that we shouldn’t watch too much tv, that it would fry our brains or blow it to smitherreens but as i grow older i found that TV can be a great source of comfort, info & sometimes even morals (provided you surf the right channel of course..)
With that said, let me leave you with this question, “What have you done today that made you proud??”
